  2. Thank you so much, I appreciate it. I'm sorry I took so long to see your comment. This quite large painting was bought from me by my dear friend Andrew who later sadly passed away quite young, as Marilyn did. So seeing it again brings back a lot of memories. I was trying to show Marilyn in a very reflective moment, in deep thought, because so often we see her smiling and being Marilyn the film star, and not Marilyn the real person, who was a very private person. I remember the image was from a lot of photos of Marilyn taken at a very modern holiday house, wearing this Pucci blouse which she loved. The color shots were all lovely apricot colours with Marilyn radiant, this image was black and white and caught my attention. I loved this later period in her life when her hair was at its lightest, and she was at her most beautiful. She has a certain sense of calm and serenity, as well as a deep knowingness. I was also thinking about her mythic place in history and why we are still fascinated by her to this day. Robert Rechter.
