Posted by PicasaI have always liked old photos and postcards of handsome sailors. To me the images are iconic and very interesting to look at or collect. In this lot of images, I have selected some really nice portrait shots, and a few of sailors and their best mate or buddies. I don't know why I have this fascination.... I'm interested in many things.... who knows, in another life I may have known some of these guys. Maybe the photos are like little time capsules waiting to be opened. A second in a boys life, who was he?  what happened to him? Was he happy? Did he find love? Could he be true to himself? A picture tells a thousand words, and sadly very few of these have names attached. At least with my fascination for vintage movie star postcards, I can look up on IMDb who the star was, and teach myself about movie history. But with most of these photos, we can only wonder. Enjoy.

Posted by Picasa Old postcards and photos from carnivals and amusement parks have always fascinated me. These photos of male friends sitting on a paper moon to have something to remember their visit to the amusement park are fascinating. Some may be from photo studios, who knows. But it seems to have been a ritual there for a time, and all we have left are these wonderful images.
