Posted by PicasaLet me begin by saying I in no way condone bullfighting or cruelty to animals. But I do like the costumes and glamour that surrounds its history. So here I have selected a few photos that show that, and the men who are bullfighters, in all their glory. If you share a fascination for ritual and costume of the corrida, you will enjoy this post. Here are a but a few examples of the highly elaborate matadors and toreros costumes called the "traje de luces", or "suit of lights".

Posted by Picasa Old postcards and photos from carnivals and amusement parks have always fascinated me. These photos of male friends sitting on a paper moon to have something to remember their visit to the amusement park are fascinating. Some may be from photo studios, who knows. But it seems to have been a ritual there for a time, and all we have left are these wonderful images.

MY GAY SUMMER : VINTAGE MEN IN SWIMWEAR

That was the summer we met Bob and Pierre

His face lit up whenever we were together

In those days no one thought much of two guys hugging
The best thing about him was he made me laugh
Harry got hard whenever I touched him, I knew it was on
That summer the sand seemed whiter, the sky bluer, I was in love
After that summer, we never parted
The photographer was hot, later we all slept on the beach
I had never felt such sheer joy before I met Jack
I'd just bought his car, his little finger tickled my palm and we never parted after that
We met every summer for passionate nights in our rented beach hut
He loved to surf and he loved to love

There was one section of the beach that was just for us

Fire Island was the place to be seen, the parties lasted days
